Hayling Island 2017
22nd - 26th May 2017
Our final day was another sunny one, although a bit breezy. This morning we all took part in team challenges which was great fun. We had to work together to solve various problems and it was great fun. After this we were all presented with certificates and after eating our packed lunches it was time to head back to school on the coach. What a fantastic week we have all had.
Day four started with the whole year group learning dance moves for our disco this evening. It was great fun and was enjoyed by everyone - especially staff! A highlight was everyone singing 'Let it go' from Frozen onstage. In the afternoon we all did the beach walk which was lovely as the weather was hot and sunny. Blue skies and Ice Cream - what more could we want!
After dinner and a quick shower we got ready for the disco and showed off the moves we learnt earlier. After another busy day, everyone is tired and ready to pack our bags and head home tomorrow, after our last Team Challenge activity.
Day 3 was another sunny day at Hayling Island! We lots more fun activites including snorkling, abseiling and initiative exercises. Snorkling was great fun and we played lots of games in both the inside and outside pools - we even managed to soak Mrs Long!
This evening we teamed up with another school to play a quiz game called Busted - unfortunately the other school won, but we all enjoyed it! Most importantly we celebrated Finley's birthday today with presents and cake!
We enjoyed another sunny day at Hayling Island, and took part in lots of different activities. All four groups started the day with fencing, which was really fun, although quite hot in our masks! We all did different activities after that including: learning to build dens and fires in Survival, facing our fears on the climbing wall and working together as a team in the Sensory trail. We also tried a new activity, the Leap of Faith, which involved climbing a rope rigging and then jumping from a pole to try and catch a trapeze - a real feat of bravery!
Mrs Stacey visited us in the afternoon and was treated to hearing all of the songs that we have learnt this week! In the evening we took part in more team games - the Savage Unicorns won! We look forward to more fun activities tomorrow.
We arrived at a very sunny Hayling Island, had lunch and got into our groups - Brew Crew, Savage Unicorns, Megladons and Brilliant Blobby Bananas. We had to make up our own chants so we knew which groups we were in. We then all did archery, which was great fun, and then went into our rooms for the first time. Dinner was amazing with lots to choose from - some of us even managed 2 puddings! Our evening activity was bonfire where we learned new songs and showed off our skills - highlights were Maiah, Celia and Sidney's vocal talents! One of the leaders, Eric, showed us his skills with fire nunchuks and taught us African songs. We all had a pretty good night's sleep ready for tomorrow's activities!
And they're off! The coach has left Greenfields with lots of excited and happy children on board, ready for a lovely week of adventures.
